Stay-Linked Demos Wireless Device Management Features

Stay-Linked's new device management feature set is being made available as a beta release for new and existing customers.

Stay-Linked Corporation, a leader in host-based, thin-client wireless terminal emulation and session management, demonstrated its new device management features at Motorola’s recent Enterprise Mobility Partner Conference in San Diego.

Stay-Linked Corporation is a Motorola PartnerSelect ISV Partner and the Stay-Linked software solution has enjoyed Symbol PLUS Validated status since September 2005. In partnership with Odyssey Software, Stay-Linked has developed specialized device management functionality enabled by the widely-used Athena software suite as a seamless set of additional features, offered in conjunction with the unique advanced terminal session management (ATSM) capabilities of the Stay-Linked solution—The New Standard in terminal emulation and centralized management.

"We are pleased to be able to showcase the value of seamlessly adding Athena's great interactive device support and software provisioning to the functionality provided by our GUI-based Stay-Linked Administrator console," said David Griffith, president of Stay-Linked Corp."While Stay-Linked has always included the ability to manage and provision (update) the device-resident Stay-Linked thin client, the need for more extensive device management is now necessary as our installed base has grown to include some of the largest companies in the world, who run device-resident applications alongside our thin-client Stay-Linked software."

"And with our unique UDP-based Client2Host architecture providing reliable and persistent wireless and WAN connectivity, Stay-Linked is also an ideal solution for providing real-time access to host applications for mobile workers outside the four walls over wide-area or cellular broadband internet connectivity. Providing device management within the Client2Host environment is a unique benefit of coupling Stay-Linked with Athena," said Griffith.

Stay-Linked’s new device management feature set is being made available as a beta release for new and existing customers, as well as Stay-Linked resellers, on an as-needed basis, with a planned general release in January 2008. Interested parties wishing to take advantage of the beta program to start working with the new device management feature set should contact Stay-Linked either directly, or through its extensive network of Stay-Linked Certified Partner resellers.

Stay-Linked terminal emulation with advanced terminal session management (ATSM) provides centralized, secure, high-performance access to 5250/3270, VT100/220 and SSHv2 host-based screen applications, with support for a wide range of wireless terminal devices that includes Symbol/Motorola, Intermec, LXE, Psion-Teklogix, Avery Dennison, PSC, HHP, AML and others.

About Stay-Linked

Stay-Linked Corporation began developing The New Standard for managing wireless terminal emulation sessions and devices in 2001. Built from the ground up for the wireless world, Stay-Linked debuted in 2002 as the first thin-client terminal emulation solution--a marked deviation from existing device-side technologies that evolved from the wired terminal model. Utilizing the proprietary Client2Host architecture, Stay-Linked was the first host-based thin-client terminal emulator; the first to provide true software-only session persistence; the first to provide a GUI Administrator console for emulation configuration and session control; and is still the only emulator with Advanced Terminal Session Management (ATSM).
